Get medical experience in Israel

 

Tel-Aviv University, "Assaf Harofe" Medical Center and MASA organization offer the "Voyage to Medicine" program that allows international students to take part in practical medical-oriented courses in Israel. Each year, dozens of students from around the world participate in this unique track, which combines academic courses and hands-on experience, as well as a chance to get to know the Israeli culture and history.

 

This program takes place in English and is designed especially for international students. The skills learned in this track can help the students enhance their degree value and gain an advantage over other candidates for job applications in the medical field.

 

Study Program

 

Students in this program take part in various academic courses in medicine. They also get acquainted with the practical side of the medical field and clinical research in medical centers. In addition, the program includes courses in trauma life support and first aid training, in order to help widen the students' set of medical skills.


Duration and structure

 

The "Voyage to Medicine" program spans around 5 months and takes place in one semester during the fall. The track includes practical work at Assaf Harofeh medical center in Tel Aviv. The students take part in clinical research in the medical departments of their choice at the hospital, guided by experienced departmental physicians.

 

The program also includes various cultural and educational tours in Israel and meetings with Israeli students and peers. The students also study in a Hebrew language course. During their stay, they can also explore Tel Aviv's

rich nightlife and cultural experience.

Hebrew Studies*

Clinical Research*

Psychology and Health*

Birth and Old age - circle of life*

Medical history of the Holy Land*

Clinical Laboratories in Medicine*

Emergency Medicine - with MDA*

Disaster Medicine - with IDF facilities*

Sport Medicine and Exercise physiology*

 

The students can also choose another 3 credit course. This course can be chosen from a variety of classes taught at Tel-Aviv University. The courses cannot interfere with the mandatory studies in the program (listed above).


Admission Requirements

 

This program is open to Pre-med students, as well as health and natural science students that have completed one year of their studies in their home countries. The admission process takes into account the candidates' academic records and professional recommendations, as well as previous experience in leadership.

 

Candidates will also need to show proof that their Undergraduate studies are conducted in English. The program accepts students from a variety of countries around the world.

 

Accreditation

 

The academic credit points given by Tel Aviv University in this program are acknowledged by universities around the world.
