The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University offers an international undergraduate degree. The school aims to train outstanding musicians and provide them with the knowledge and skills to fill professional roles in the global music arena. This international program is aimed at outstanding international students who wish to learn from world renowned musicians and guest artists. The school is partner to the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and helps train this orchestra’s future generations.
 
Music is an international language, and this program is open to both Israeli and international musicians from around the world. The degree is taught entirely in English.
 

 

Study program
 
The school offers instrumental and vocal departments. This program aims to train the next generation of musicians and prepare them for a career in this field. During their studies, students receive professional orchestral training and practical training opportunities with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra’s soloists and conductors. Moreover, students receive the opportunity to perform in the school’s auditorium and at the Philharmonic’s Bronfman Auditorium.

Scholarships
 
The school aims to provide outstanding international students with the opportunity to live and study in the city of Tel Aviv and grants them a full-tuition scholarship. In addition, this program provides a limited number of outstanding students with housing assistance and living a living stipend (to students who meet the academic criteria).

The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music faculty comprises Israel’s leading musicians who have achieved international musical acclaim, many take part in Israel’s Philharmonic Orchestra. Faculty members have extensive pedagogical experience in all musical fields.
 

 

 

Admissions
 
All applications must include:
 
- Official copies of high school diploma transcripts.
- Personal CV.
- A scanned copy of the applicant’s passport.
- A personal photo.
 
Applicants must perform an audition. The school recommends attending a live audition but allows a recorded audition in some cases.
 
Candidates must also pass an entrance theory test.
 
Candidates whose native language is not English must pass an English proficiency exam.
 

 

 

Academic diploma
 
Upon completing their studies, students are awarded a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) degree from Tel Aviv University.
 

 

 

Career opportunities
