Doctoral Degrees and Support for New Olim

To my knowledge, there are no specific doctorate studies for new Olim, however, each academic institution provides an extensive support system for Olim scientists who wish to pursue their PhD after making Aliyah. This support may include guidance, assistance in finding a research guide, financial support, etc. You can find PhD tracks in computer science at most Israeli universities, including Bar-Ilan University (Ramat Gan), Reichman University (Herzliya), The University of Haifa, Tel-Aviv University, and more.

Moreover, The Center of Integration in Science, which operates via the Ministry of Aliyah, assists Olim scientists and research students in finding employment and research opportunities in Israel. As part of this assistance, PhD Olim students may be eligible for research scholarships and fellowships aimed at encouraging their absorption in Israel. In addition, Olim students under 30 years of age may be eligible for assistance with summer Ulpan, which is required as part of the Hebrew language exemption requirements in Israeli academic studies.
