M.A in Psychology in Israel
Hello Daniel,
To practice as a clinical psychologist in Israel, one must receive a license from the Ministry of Health. This can be achieved by completing an M.A (graduate degree) in clinical psychology, and then completing a practical internship. Depending on your B.A, you may also be required to take complementary studies.
To my knowledge, there are currently no M.A programs in psychology in Israel which are designated specifically for Olim, all available programs are studied in Hebrew, however, most academic institutions offer extensive support systems to new Olim to assist in their absorption, including Ulpan.
In addition, several institutions offer the “Our Community” program which allows Olim to take part in Hebrew Ulpan classes, receive scholarships, and participate in social activities. This service is offered by The Ministry of Aliyah’s Student Authority as part of one’s absorption basket, for a period of up to 2 years. Master’s students are eligible up to age 30 years. It is offered in the following institutions: The University of Haifa, Reichman University (Herzliya), Tel-Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University, The Hebrew University (Jerusalem), and more. You can read more about academic studies for new Olim in the article I have attached below my answer.
