B.A. in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at IDC Herzliya

Students worldwide are welcomed every year at IDC Herzliya's Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy. In its academic programs they get a unique opportunity to study in Israel about Israeli and international policies and foreign affairs, while getting a sense of the life in the Middle East.
In the first year of the government B.A. program
students must take introductory courses in political thought, the history of Israel and the Middle East. In the following years students may take courses regarding PR and diplomacy, public policy, European history, terrorism, Arab-Israeli relations and conflicts, and much more.
The study program also includes field trips around Israel, especially to Jerusalem in which students will meet leading politicians and army officials. Students may attend numerous workshops during their studies in areas such as conflict resolution, negotiations, presentation skills and public debates. Many students choose to volunteer or intern in various social projects that the IDC is a part of.
The duration of this international B.A. program
is three years, and it is taught entirely in English. However, students may elect courses in Hebrew. In the third year almost all courses are elective and students select them based on their field of expertise. These are the available fields:
Other areas of expertise, such as public administration and political marketing are also available, but they require the students to attend classes in Hebrew.

During your studies in the Government, Diplomacy and Strategy program in IDC Herzliya you will meet and learn from leading researchers as well as past politicians and diplomats, including: former Israeli ambassador to the US; past consultants to the Israeli Foreign Ministry and to the Prime Minister Office; and editors of many distinguished academic journals.
All applicants need to submit their high school diploma. Those who did not complete their high school studies in English speaking countries must take an English proficiency test. Candidates from Israel and the US must also submit their scores in standardized tests (SAT or Psychometric). Additionally, all candidates have to write a personal essay.
Graduates of the program will receive a B.A. in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy from IDC Herzliya.
