Education Studies for Olim in Israel

To teach in schools or kindergarten in Israel, you will need an undergraduate degree and a teaching certificate. If you are interested in making Aliyah and becoming a teacher in Israel, this process will usually first include an intensive Ulpan (Hebrew language program), or a preparatory program (Mechinat Olim). You will then be able to continue your studies for your undergraduate degree in Education and teaching certificate, in most cases this program is conducted in Hebrew, with the exception of some English-language teacher training programs, which are conducted mostly in English (such as at Gordon College, Levinsky College, Herzog College, and more). This degree spans 4 years.

Alternately, if you already have an undergraduate degree, The Ministry of Aliyah and Tel-Aviv University offer the MA TESOL program for Olim, which is a graduate (master’s) degree which trains for teaching English. This program spans 2 years.

Regarding your question about online studies, there are currently no online programs for education studies in Israel, all programs require on-campus studying.
