MBA in Healthcare Innovations at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya)
 

The MBA in Healthcare and Innovations graduate program at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) was created in partnership with Sheba - Israel’s largest medical center. This one-year MBA track is conducted in English and is suitable for international and Israeli professionals with experience in the healthcare industry, as well as those interested in innovation and entrepreneurship in this field. Candidates come from the healthcare system and other relevant fields such as biomedicine, pharmacology, AI, engineering, public policy, management, investment and high-tech.

 

 

Study program
 
Students in this program focus on developing knowledge and skills in healthcare management, business administration and entrepreneurship. They gain practical tools required for understanding the complexities and challenges of today’s healthcare industry, while also getting to know Israel’s advantages and innovation in this field.
 
Using this skillset, students can develop innovative solutions that can allow them to redesign technological, pharmaceutical, digital and policy aspects and succesfully deal with emergency situations.
 

 

 

Structure and duration
 
In this one-year program, all classes are conducted in English. studies take place twice a week, including Friday mornings. During the first 2 mini semesters optional tutorials take place on an extra weekday. Some of the courses are taught intensively over several full days.
 
In addition to core studies, students take part in a hands-on practicum in entrepreneurship and innovation. They may choose between two tracks:
 
- Process Innovation: students learn to define objectives and themes and assist organizations in meeting defined objectives. This track allows students to join existing organizations in the Israeli healthcare industry such as hospitals, medical startups, HMOs, pharma companies and the Sheba Innovation Center.
 
- Product Innovation: in this track students experience development processes of ventures from idea to finished product. They define needs, develop innovative products, and prepare bringing products to the patient market through corporations and startups.
 
Students in this MBA program also take part in other activities, such as guest lectures of lecturers from universities abroad such as Harvard and Stanford, as well as professionals from the field. Students can also take part in an optional study trip to Stanford University and the Silicon Valley.

Faculty
 
The head and director of this program, Prof. Varda Liberman, is an expert in the field of decision making. She serves as consultant and gives executive training courses in organizations, high-tech firms, and the healthcare system. Prof. Liberman’s research interests include behavioral decision making and probabilistic judgements. She is the co-author of a book on critical thinking.
 
Admissions
 
Admission criteria to this program include:
 
- Undergraduate degree from recognized institutions
- GPA of 3.0 and above (80%)
- Non-quantitative degree undergraduates must submit GMAT exam scores
- At least 3 years of professional experience after completing undergraduate studies
- Interview (Online or in person)
- Prerequisite courses in economics, mathematics and statistics for candidates missing these courses

Upon completing this program, graduates receive an MBA in Healthcare Innovations.
