Regular Mechina or Mechinat Olim

Hi, My daughter graduated from hight school at the states and wants to major in computer science. She reads and writes in Hebrew. She has pretty good Hebrew over all. Since her graduation certificate is not equivalent to Bagrut and needs to do Mechina how can I tell if she needs Mechinat Olim or a regular Mechina.

Hello Ravit,

If she's only planing on studying here and not doing Alyiah ther is no need for Mechinat Olim. Keep in mind the regular Mechina is in Hebrew - You say she reads and write, does she also speak and understand?

If she's doing Alyiah it's a different story and she can apply for Mechinat Olim.
