Internship programme in Livestock breeding and nutrition

Hello Sir/ Ma,

I have a zeal to continue my education for a PhD in (Animal Nutrition, Livestock breeding and Feed Science) as it relates to Improving the
nutrition and management of dairy cows, Monogastrics e.g Pig and Poultry.

My Proposed Research Title is " Production, Management and Utilization
of Fodder using Hydroponics Technology in Dairy Cattle. (A case study
of Dairy industry in the North East Nigeria)".

I hold a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Animal Nutrition from Federal
University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria. And am Working currently as a
Livestock Development Specialist with the Federal Department of Animal
Productions and Husbandry Services of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture
and Rural Development, Abuja, Nigeria.

Currently, my Ministry is faced with the challenge of tackling one of
Nigeria’s serious national security problems caused by Cattle Herdsmen and
crop farmer’s conflicts which has lead to loss of thousands of lives and
properties. This was brought about majorly by massive degradation of
Pasture / grazing lands as a result of Desertification, Climate change
and Competition over water resources.

This ignited some forms of curiosity in me and furthered my interest
to take a critical and holistic look at the livestock sector
development strategies within the context of the environment and
sustainable production systems.

With the internship programme, I am sure that my desire for an improvement and
development of my country’s Pasture and Grazing Reserves and building the
capacity of pastoralists on Hydroponic Fodder production for improved beef
and dairy production will be actualize.


My personal traits include strong will, analytical attitude, passion and
being positive.
