Business and economics double major at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya)
 
At Reichman University (IDC Herzliya), international students can take part in a double major program in business administration and economics. This track allows students to develop an in-depth understanding of the global financial marketplace as well as gain leadership and entrepreneurship skills necessary in today’s private and public sectors.
 
This is a demanding program suitable for outstanding students with strong analytical and quantitative skills. It is aimed at those who wish to fill leadership positions in economic and finance policy, and those who are interested in continuing to advanced degrees in business (MBA), economics or law.
 
In today’s competitive and dynamic market, those with interdisciplinary knowledge can gain an advantage in many professional fields. Business executives with a command of a wide set of skills can make better decisions and deal more effectively with professional challenges.
 
 

 

 

Study program
 
Students in this double major program gain theoretical knowledge and practical tool needed in management positions in today’s global business and finance arenas. The program combines fundamentals in economics and administration and allows students to develop entrepreneurship skills.
 
Through the different economics courses students can develop important analytical thinking abilities necessary in today’s complex working environment. They learn about subjects such as market structure, pricing, business regulations and financial decision making.
 
The business administration courses allow students to gain practical tools for operating in the business arena such as marketing, business law, digital communication, leadership, and strategy.
 

 

 

Structure and duration
 
This is a three-year track that comprises 6 semesters. It includes both theoretical courses and practical workshops in order to assist student in developing the skillset required in management positions.
 
During their third year, students can take part in an exchange progran with UC Berkeley.
 
In Addition, students can participate in various internships in startup companies, financial firms, government organizations and more. Outstanding students may take part in economics related internship positions in the public or provate sector. These internship options allow students to gain hands-on experience and get to know the field.

Faculty
 
Faculty includes experienced researchers in various fields in economics and business. Among the faculty members’ areas of interest are: Labor economics, political economy, decision theory, banking and finance, and more.
 

 

Admissions
 
Admission requirements to this program are as follows:
 
- Applicants must submit high school grades (diploma and transcript)
- CV or resume
- Personal essay of 250 - 500 words specifying personal reasons for choosing this program and university
- 2 letters of recommendation from relevant individuals such as teachers, counsellors, or employers
- English proficiency is required. Those who have graduated high schools teaching in languages other than English must submit a relevant score in a proficiency test such as TOEFL, IELTS or Amiram.
 

 

 

Diploma
 
Undergraduates receive a double B.A. major in business management and economics.
