University of Haifa's Psychology Honors Program

Can't Wait to Make an Impact on Future Psychology?

As a lot of undergraduate psychology students know, most of their degree studies are comprised from theoretical courses. It seems the only time they are in the lab is when they assist other scholars to conduct research. University of Haifa wishes to change that by providing a special opportunity to outstanding B.A. psychology students from around the world - a chance to conduct their own researches or have a significant role in existing ones.

What does the Program Look Like?

At the beginning of the semester, international psychology students who take part in the program are divided into different groups based on their interests. Each group is given an advisor who will guide their research. The advisor will tell the students about ongoing researches they might join and about their possibilities to start their own novel project.

It is important to note that even in cases students work on a brand new research they cannot do it on their own, but must work as a team. All students must write a final paper in this track in which they conclude their research. They receive credit points for their project - 3 points for 10 hours of work, and 4 points for completing 15 hours. The points awarded are recognized by hundreds of academic institutions around the world.

Furthermore, participants may choose from a selection of courses in English offered every semester, in subjects such as: positive psychology, drug abuse, psychological aspects of conflict resolution and more. The list of electives varies each year. In addition to studies, visiting students benefit from a comprehensive social program that includes trips around Israel, parties, special movie screenings, volunteer work etc.
