Hi. I am interested in studying medicine in Israel. I am looking into both going to an Israeli medical school or a medical program taught in English in Israel. English medical programs: Based on what I have heard on going to English programs in Israel, you must do some, if not all, of you undergraduate in America (outside of Israel). Is this true? Is there any way to apply to these programs with an Israeli undergraduate degree? When going to these English programs do you receive only an American degree or an Israeli degree as well? Is there a way to receive both at once? For Israeli medical school: To apply to Israeli medical school, would I have to take the psychometric exam or are ACT/SAT scores sufficient? Are there any programs that offer some of there courses in English or that are known to be more accommodating to English speaking students (potentially allowing papers and tests to be taken in English)? What are the typical requirements for applying to medical school in Israel? What are the names of the medical schools in Israel? After receiving an Israeli medical license is there a way transfer it to an American license, if I should decide to move back to America? For instance, through testing/taking the boards? Thanks for your help!

English medical programs in Israel
Hello Talya,
There are a few institutions in Israel which offer medical study programs for international students, among them: The Tel Aviv University, The Hebrew University, The University of Haifa, the Ben Gurion University and more. In order to apply for an international program in medical sciences you have to first finish your pre med studies. Candidates must present a GPA of at least 3.4. and MCAT scores (or their equivalent in case students are not from the US) with scores of above 27.
I've attached a link at the end of my message to an article about the different schools which offer medical programs for international students in Israel
