I live in Tel Aviv and am wondering if there a way that I can study Arabic and courses in Middle East studies without commuting. I’d like to pursue online or group chat/conference call courses in Arabic and Middle East Studies, not necessarily for a diploma, but just because I’m interested. Please recommend a learning center that might offer online/group courses or somewhere appropriate that I can learn in Tel Aviv. Thank you.

Arabic courses and middle east studies
Hello Daniel,
As far as i know, there are no online programs like the one you've mentioned. You may be able to find online Arabic courses but probably not with a diploma. Arabic courses you can find mostly in Jerusalem at he Hebrew University and The Center for Jerusalem Studies. Each of the schools I've mentioned above offers a different program but in general they focus on Palestinian Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic. There are 2 big universities in Israel which offer a master degree program in middle eastern studies - The Tel Aviv University and The Hebrew University.
The programs are entirely in English so candidates who did not complete their undergraduate studies in an English speaking country, must pass an English proficiency test. Candidates must have completed their undergraduate studies with a GPA of 80 (3.0) or above. All candidates will also have to submit letters of recommendation and a personal essay.
The programs are open to students and candidates who have prior knowledge of the Middle East or Islamic culture. In case they don't have such background they will be required to take a few extra courses.
I've attached a link at the end of my message to an article about the different schools you can choose from, admission and more.
