There are a few Israeli universities where you can Study for PhD in Linguistics, Such as Bar Ilam University (Ramat Gan), Ben Gurion University (Beer Sheva) and the Hebrew University (Jerusalem).As far as I know there is no specific program for translation, but you could probably focus on translation in the different departments in Linguistics. In order to apply you will need to complete your MA in a grade of 80 and a grade of 85 in your thesis. You will also need to make sure your university and degree are accepted in Israel.

As for scholarships, most universities offer them for Doctoral students; I recommend you send a request to the universities directly via their websites for more information, as the scholarships tend to vary.

Thanks for your early response on my request about Ph.D in translation. As a linguist, am very much interest in learning world famous languages like Hebrew. I read B.A English, PGD TESL and currently M.A linguistics from Bayero University, Kano. Does Universities or government of israel offer scholarship like other countries for those who wants to learn their official language as we don't have people who speaks hebrew here in Nigeria and I want to be one who can be link between my people and that of israel for economic and commercial mutual benefit.
