Study Programs
The duration of most master's programs in science is two years, however, in some cases students choose to work on their personal projects and researches additional time. All programs include both theoretical classes and practical experience. Students can choose between thesis and non-thesis tracks, however, in some programs thesis is mandatory.

Admission
Due to the fact that the programs are entirely in English, candidates who are not native English speakers and did not complete their undergraduate studies in English speaking countries must pass an English proficiency test (such as TOEFL). Candidates must have high GPA in their B.Sc. degrees, not less than 3.4.
Tuition and Scholarships
Tuition fees can be between $16,000 and $40,000 and they do not include housing expenses and additional costs. Students may receive a scholarship based on their academic achievements. For example, Ben Gurion University offers several graduate programs that include full tuition and cost of living scholarships. At Weizmann Institute all students learn for free and can get a salary, but they are not allowed to work while participating in the graduate program.
Academic Institutions
Bar Ilan University (Ramat Gan) - BIU offers several graduate programs (M.Sc.) in science, conducted in English, in subjects such as physics, brain science, and life sciences.
Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (Haifa) – offers master's programs in chemistry and in nanotechnology and nano sciences. The Techion is one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Israel and is home to several Nobel laureates.
Weizmann Institute (Rehovot) – offers several master's tracks including in physics, mathematics, chemistry and life sciences. All students are required to do research and write a thesis.
Ben Gurion University of the Negev (Be'er-Sheva) – offers several tracks including information systems engineering and desert studies. BGU offers full scholarships (tuition and cost of living) to students of the following fields: physics, chemistry, life sciences, geological and environmental sciences and mathematics.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem – offers master's programs in environmental sciences, plant sciences, nutritional sciences, animal sciences and in viticulture and oenology. Not all programs open every year, several of them begin every two years, so make sure you apply to the right program. Some of the programs take place at The Hebrew University's Faculty in Rehovot.
