using English as a medium of instruction, i have obtained a first degree from the university of the Gambia in 2013. since then i have been the school agriculture and food management unit officer in one of the educational regions in my country, region 6. in my roles, i supervise the implementation of school farm and garden program in the region. Besides, i also identify training needs and give technical assistance to the schools with regards to garden matters. therefore i am optimistic that the opportunity of pursuing further studies in horticulture will sharpen my skills and knowledge and thus my delivery capacity and technical competencies.

Horticulture studies in Israel

Horticulture studies are a part of the MA programs in agriculture sciences taught in a few institutes in Israel. Among those institutes: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Weizmann Institute of Science and The Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva. Each institute offer different admission but in general they all ask the candidates to present an undergraduate degree in biology, biotechnology, agriculture, animal sciences, food sciences or any other related fields with a GPA of 80 or higher. Students that did not come from an English speaking country, they must pass an English proficiency test like TOEFL (with a score of 89) or IELTS (6.7).
