I’m a university graduate (BSc) and studied animal science which includes poultry and apiculture. I have 4 year experience in apiculture field and stile working with poor beekeepers in Ethiopian rural areas. The name of the project is Agricultural Growth Program- Agribusiness and Market development (AGP-AMD) funded by USAID Ethiopia. This project is working profoundly with rural farmers in beekeeping and honey marketing and I came to realize all the challenges and opportunities that Ethiopia has. Now I devolved strong interest to improve my skill on beekeeping to contribute more as it became very important strategic field of income generation for the poor women and youths and fit to environmental development program in Ethiopia.
So to meet my long term interest I found Israel as it is one of the tropical countries which has heavily exercised beekeeping and has keen interest in supporting developing countries. My intention is just to get a short term practical training on beekeeping and honey processing technology

The Hebrew University offers a 25 days course in Beekeeping.
The Israeli ministry of foreign affairs "Mashav" program offers a full scholarships for international students.
Usually applicants from developing countries receive these scholarships so you have a good chance.

As far as i know, the Hebrew University in jerusalem is the only school which offer an international program in your field.
The university offers a 25 days course in Beekeeping.
The Israeli ministry of foreign affairs "Mashav" program offers a full scholarships for international students.

Hi Kotesh,

To my knowledge, the institutions that offer PhD agriculture programs are the Hebrew University and Ben Gurion University (Deserts studies).

Each of those institutions has different admission but in general, candidates will have to finish a Master's thesis track in a known academic institution in the world, their grade average must be at least 80 (B), and the thesis grade must be 85 or higher (the equivalent of "Very Good").
