In order to apply for a PhD position in Israel, you must have a M. Sc. or MD degree. The studies focus mainly on work at the research laboratories, under supervision of leading researchers.

There are several institution that offer programs in Biological sciences, such as Weizmann Institute of Science, The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Bar Ilan University (as part of the faculty of life sciences) and Ariel University, that also offers certain scholarships.
