Hello,

I am an electrician currently living in Canada and will be making Aliya with my family (I am 37 years old) in the next two years. I would like to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering and I would prefer studying my first year in Israel in English. I do speak Hebrew but would prefer that my first year be in English.

My question is: Is the one year Freshman Program something suitable for a person in their late 30's with a family?

Hello Michael,
In Israel there are a few institutes that offer special study programs in English/Hebrew for international students, some of them are for Engineering studies.
I advise you to contact the following institutes directly so you will have all the information you need about the special programs each of them offer: Technion - Israel's Institute of Technology (Haifa), Tel Aviv University, ORT Braude College (Karmiel, Galilee) and more.

In Israel a lot of people start to study late because of the army so i don't think you need to worry about your age. Also the government helps new citizens to adjust to the new life here so you are in good hands.
