Hebrew and Arabic courses in Israel
Hello Iky, In Israel there are a few institutes that offer language courses in different levels for international students or visitors. Arabic - Most tracks focus on Palestinian Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic (Literary Arabic). Courses in other dialects as well as in Classical Arabic are also available, mostly at universities. The basic courses familiarize the students with the Arabic alphabet, basic vocabulary and basic grammar. Advanced programs focus on grammar and speaking skills. You can find courses for all levels; many institutions require a proficiency test in Arabic in order to determine the recommended course for each student.
Most Israeli programs include field trips to Arabic cities, villages and museums as well as other activities such as movie screenings, cooking lessons or dinner parties that give the participants the chance to get better acquainted with Arabic culture. among the institutes that offer Arabic courses you can find: The Hebrew University, The Kibbutz Program Center, Center for Jerusalem Studies (Al Quds) and more.
Hebrew - In Israel you can find courses for beginners and advanced students. The introductory courses require no prior knowledge and focus on basic reading and writing skills, basic grammar and vocabulary. Israeli academic institutions, yeshivas and even several Kibbutzim offer intensive Hebrew courses for new immigrants (Olim Hadashim) as well as for visiting students and tourists. The following are some of the institutes in which you can study Hebrew: The Hebrew University, Tel Aviv university, IDC Herzliya, Levinsky College and more.
I advise you to contact each institute so you could find the perfect course for you *in you economical and periodical limits(
