The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University offers an international graduate program. The M.Mus. degree is conducted entirely in English and allows outstanding musicians from around the world to study in Israel and advance their musical knowledge and skills. This advanced track includes intensive hands-on musical training with leading soloists and conductors as well as performances and concerts.

 

 
Study program
 
The master’s program is offered in instrumental, composition, vocal, and conducting departments. During their studies, students participate in theoretical courses, seminars, workshops, and orchestral activities.
 
In addition, students can broaden their theoretical knowledge and expand their practical skills through intensive practical training with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and various workshops and classes with guest artists. Students get various opportunities to perform at the school’s auditorium and at the Philharmonic Orchestra’s home auditorium.
 

 

 

Study duration
 
The M.Mus. program spans two years. This is a non-thesis track.
 

 

 

Scholarships
 
Outstanding international students in this program who participate in the school orchestra are granted full tuition scholarships. Moreover, the program provides housing assistance and stipends to a limited number of exceptional students.
 
Faculty
 
The Buchnam-Mehta School of Music is known for its supportive faculty in all musical fields. Faculty members are renowned and experienced musicians and musical scholars. They assist students throughout their studies and bring their vast experience into the classroom.

Admissions
 
To apply to this graduate program, applications must include the following:
 
- Official copies of bachelor’s degree transcript.
- Personal resume (CV).
- Scanned copies of passport, and personal photo.
- Applicants must perform an audition (the department recommends a live audition, but in some cases a recorded audition is available to those unable to attend live auditions on campus).
- Entrance and placement examinations.
- For non-native English speakers: an English proficiency exam in the required grade.

 

 

 
Academic diploma
 
Graduates are awarded an M.Mus. (Master of Music) degree from Tel Aviv University.
