I’m an American 25 year old with a bachelors in biochem. I’ve applied to American medical programs a couple of times and haven’t gotten accepted. I’m currently in Israel and started to consider applying to programs here. I think making aliah would actually be very fulfilling as well as give me the opportunity to not only learn medicine but also support the small but thriving Jewish state. Please let me know what the best way to approach this process might be.
I have been out of school for a little bit so that is my biggest concern.
Thank you for your help, Kyle Swerdlow

MD programs in Israel
Hello Kyle,
In order to study medicine you must first finish your premed studies abroad because there are no premed international programs in Israel. There are a few institutions which offer medical programs, among them: The Tel Aviv University, The Hebrew University, The University of Haifa, the Ben Gurion University and more. In order to study medicine in Israel you must first complete your pre med studies. Candidates need to present a GPA of at least 3.4. and MCAT scores (or their equivalent in case students are not from the US) with scores of above 27.
I've attached a link at the end of my message to an article about the different schools you can choose from and the admission for international students.
